Portuguese heavenly cream / Natas do céu

If you could define heaven in one word today, which word would you choose?

This WEEKEND was heaven for me. Friday night my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and niece came over. We had so. much. fun. So much so that bringing their new iPhone 5 so we could teach them how to get apps for it was the perfect excuse for a nice dinner on Saturday, cooked by yours truly. After a delicious [their words!] chuck roast, I served this dessert with a couple of changes - I should write a separate post about it - and it was a success.
Then today I went with a couple of friends to a friend's birthday lunch at her house - where I had never been to, and which happens to be in one of the most beautiful places in Portugal: Arouca.

And speaking of heaven: this weekend I've made "Natas do céu", a popular Portuguese dessert which can be found in many restaurants.

Heavenly cream // Natas do céu

All the ingredients you'll need.

Crush 125g of cookies into a recipient.

Separate the yolks from the egg whites of 5 eggs. Mix the egg yolks with 1 teacup of sugar and 1 teacup of milk. Heat it until it thickens, but never stop mixing. When it is finally thickened, take it from the heat and let it cool.

Mix 125ml of cream with 4 tablespoons of sugar. In another recipient, whisk the egg whites and when they are almost finished, add 2 tablespoons of sugar. Incorporate the egg whites into the cream carefully.

Now, you can serve this dessert in a large bowl or several individual bowls. I'd recommend small individual ones, though.

Alternate one layer of cookies, one layer of cream, one layer of cookies, one layer of cream, and finish with egg cream on top.

Store it in the fridge and serve cool.

Heavenly cream // Natas do céu

Guarda no frigorífico e serve frio.

I do have 2 questions for you if you tend not to mind.
Could it be just me or do a few of these responses appear like
