I had no idea how the gingerbread would taste like. On the first bite, my body surrendered to the spicy honeyish flavours and almost instantly started craving others, too, so I headed for the kitchen.
This suggestion did not come at the same time. First "chocolate" came to mind, then I started wondering on presentation, and I can't explain how, the "cheese" factor just made itself invited into this party of flavours.
I melted some dark chocolate with just a tiny dessert spoon of butter, and took it to the freezer for a couple of hours to solidify. To create this shape, I used tiny aluminum serving bowls I have for dressings. So, as I said, I poured the chocolate into a couple of bowls, and waited for it to solidify in the freezer.
When it was almost time to serve, I melted some shredded emmental cheese with a spoon of flour and a spoon of butter, and with the help of a syringe created some not-that-amazing round shapes. I took them to the oven for a couple of minutes, to make them crispy gold.
Finally, when everything was ready:
- I just took a chocolate from the bowl which had been in the freezer onto a plate.
- I dove another bowl into the gingerbread to take a piece of it in that shape. I helped, pressing it with my fingers. And took it out onto the plate.
- And placed a crispy cheese round.
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteThank you! It was at least fun making and eating them. ;)))
DeleteThese look like delicious bites!
ReplyDeleteThey were! They were! :P And I have to admit, I made an extra cheese bit for myself. There's something about choc and cheese...
DeleteI can't wait to try these... what an awesome idea! Adoro!
ReplyDeleteIf you are like me, you like saving time and adding flavours to a plate when you know something will make you want to have another thing next [I often have something salty after something sweet; not on purpose, I just crave it, grab it and then realise what I've done] :P
Deletesounds very interesting!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tandy. Have a great week!
